Founded in 1975 as Adoptees in Search, the organization changed its name to Adoptees in Search - Colorado's Triad Connection in 2005. The group provides search tips and emotional support, and was instrumental in the passage of a number of records access bills passed unanimously in 2014-2015. Nearly 190,00 original birth certificates and certain court records are now available to adult adoptees and certain family members upon written request and proof of identification.
As a growing body of research and narratives reveal the similarities and intersection of issues faced by those impacted by relinquishment, adoption, foster care and assisted reproduction, the group formed a registered non-profit organization with a new name, Adoption Search Resource Connection in 2017. Our mission honors our remarkable all-volunteer past and envisions a meaningful expanded role in shaping a more just, compassionate and healthy future for the populations we serve.
